Dodge(r) Ball

This week includes two chances to catch your favorite Bricktown sluggers at home. The Oklahoma City Dodgers take on the Sacramento River Cats on the diamond at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. These Triple-A clubs will be aiming for the fences, so be sure to bring your gloves—or at least keep your eyes on the game. Upcoming opponents include the Sugar Land Skeeters, Albuquerque Isotopes, and the El Paso Chihuahuas. May 17 & 18. Tickets, $8-$23. (405) 218-1000 or milb.com

Park It

Locals love Hafer Park's beautiful trails, unique playgrounds, and the rock-climbing wall overlooking a bustling duck pond, but there's even more to love this summer. Each Thursday, Hafer Park hosts Concerts in the Park with varying genres and styles. One night may bring a little indie while the next week you could see some bluegrass, and there will be refreshing snow cones for when Oklahoma's summers get into full swing. This week's artists include Sentimental Social Club, known for its bluesy soft rock style. May 20-August 12. Admission, Free. (405) 348-8830 or edmondok.com

Understanding Through Art

Books and TV shows often give us the facts about history, but sometimes understanding comes from feeling what it was like to be there. 1921 Black Wall Street: An Artistic Reflection is a chance to learn about the history of Tulsa's Black Wall Street, from its beginnings to its destruction and rebirth through dance, spoken word, and visual arts. May 21. Registration, Free. (918) 596-1020 or eventbrite.com

Whips, Tricks, and Six Shooters

If you love ropin', ridin', and winnin', you'll want to make the trip to Atoka to see professionals from across the country do what they do best at the Atoka ProRodeo. Among these professionals is trick roping expert Rider Kiesner, known for his unmatched skills in the finer cowboy arts, including gun spinning and whip cracking. May 21 & 22. Tickets, $15. Angler Club

Why party with perch or gather with groupers when you can head to Grand Lake for the Big Bass Bash? This weekend will have fishermen from across the state showing off their prowess and wisdom as they seek the biggest bass they can catch, all to grab a piece of more than $180,000 in cash and prizes. With more than one hundred and sixty payouts, there will definitely be plenty of winners. But in the end, a weekend of fishing could be just the grand prize you need. May 22 & 23. Entry Fee, $140-$190. (314) 591-4578 or midwestfishtournaments.com
