Buck Stops

Returning once again to Oklahoma City’s Midtown is 10 Buck Lunch Week. Local restaurants will be providing specials and fan-favorite meal deals for only $10 every day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Take a midday break in Midtown before returning back to the day’s work with a full stomach and a happy wallet.

Glenpool Party

For four days of celebration, live entertainment, and traditions, head on out to Glenpool for the annual BlackGold Days. The festival commemorates the history of the town and the 1905 oil discovery. Visitors will be able to enjoy games, vendors, live DJs, a pie contest, carnival rides, a drone show, and more.

All’s Fair

Fair season has begun. For those looking for an inexpensive way to get in on the action, the Hinton Free Fair is the perfect option. Owned and operated by locals, the fair includes exhibits, a cake auction, live music each night, delicious fair foods, and carnival rides for all ages.
August 27-29. Admission, free. Tickets for rides are $1 each.

Horsing Around

This year marks the hundredth annual Rodeo Miami. The two-day event is packed with all the rodeo action one can imagine, from bronc riding to barrel racing, steer roping, calf wrestling, and more. Attendees are encouraged to wear pink on Saturday as they’ll also have the opportunity to donate to a general fund in support of a local community member battling cancer.

Return of the King

Give Oklahoma’s monarch butterflies something to celebrate at the OK Monarch Conservation Action Plan Kickoff Celebration at Heirloom Rustic Ales in Tulsa. The event marks the launch of a new roadmap for monarch and pollinator conservation developed with more than sixty partners over the past two years. Guests can take an interactive Action Plan Roadmap Tour, shop for native plants and monarch merchandise, bid on handcrafted treasures and local experiences in a silent auction, and enjoy food trucks and local beer.
