The world’s largest amateur rodeo returns to Pawhuska this week with the Cavalcade Rodeo at the Osage County Fairgrounds. Talented cowboys and cowgirls from around the world will vie for prizes and bragging rights in rodeo events throughout the week. Arguably the biggest attraction of the week is the Cavalcade Street Dance though, which this year takes place on Tuesday in downtown Pawhuska featuring live music from the Quin Peterson Band. There will also be live music at the conclusion of each day of rodeo at the fairgrounds, including a performance by Jason Boland & The Stragglers on Friday night.
Through July 20. Street dance, free. Rodeo admission, $11.50-$98.

An Oklahoma cheese-fry institution is turning half a hundred. If you’re in Stillwater this week, you’’ surely notice the hubbub around Eskimo Joe’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. The college town classic has become known for its annual anniversary celebration, but you only turn fifty once. Eskimo Joe’s is marking the occasion with a week of fun themed nights indoors, including karaoke on Tuesday and a glow party on Thursday night. The big event is the street party on Saturday: Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with live music from Richmond Road, Smokin’ Oaks, and My So Called Band. If you do come to dine at Eskimo Joe’s this week, check your silverware pack to see if you’re an instant giveaway winner.
Through July 21. Entertainment free for paying customers.

Things are just peachy in Oklahoma, in case you couldn’t tell by the not one but two local peach festivals taking place in the state this week. Make it a double header by first paying a visit to the Porter Peach Festival, running July 17-19 in northeastern Oklahoma town of Porter. Enjoy three days of live music, food trucks, arts and crafts, tractor pulls, free peaches with ice cream or custard, and more. After all that fun, head to Stratford near Pauls Valley on July 19 for the Stratford Peach Festival. A similar summer carnival atmosphere will fill the streets with sweet peachy desserts. Stick around for the Peach Idol competition, which aims to crown a singer who’s far from the pits.

We’re pretty sure the subject matter of the Oklahoma City Cat Club Show is obvious. It’s a place where our feline friends and the humans whom they allow to love them can co-mingle. What’s not as obvious is that the show does not actually take place in Oklahoma City, but in Stillwater at the Payne County Expo Center. Only a cat could have planned it this way. Anyway, the cats in attendance through either human coaching or trickery will compete for titles like Softest Belly, Best Stripes, Most Unusual Color and Cutest Paw Pads. All of which should probably be made into Olympic sports.
July 19. Admission, $5.

She’s known as a main-stay Food Network personality on shows like Everyday Italian, Giada at Home, and Food Network Star. Now you can catch Giada de Laurentiis during an intimate culinary event inside the Magnolia Ballroom at Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant. The night begins with a four course meal inspired by Giada’s signature Italian flavors, including a live cooking demonstration as she prepares the main course from stage in front of everyone. There’s even a meet and greet ticket option for those who would like to thank the chef (and maybe get a picture).
July 19. Tickets $299-$499.
