The Play’s The Thing

To be or not to be at Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park this June for The Merry Wives of Windsor? That is the question. Running June 5–15, this beloved Shakespearean sitcom brings bawdy laughs and clever twists to the Paseo’s Shakespeare Gardens. In this tale, the roguish Sir John Falstaff tries to woo two witty wives, but their tricks put him through the wringer in a tale full of mischief, mistaken identities, and midsummer revelry. With swordplay, fairy costumes, and a cast of colorful characters, this open-air romp will show that love always gets the last word . . . and maybe even the last laugh.

Minuet to Win It

Tune your ears because Bartlesville’s 41st OKM Music Festival returns June 6–8, celebrating the art of Norway and Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. The festival starts at the Woolaroc Museum and Wildlife Center with jazz from Grady Nichols and the Manhattan Chamber Players, moves to Tulsa’s Cascia Hall for pianist Natasha Paremski, and wraps at The Refinery with rising stars and the Escher Quartet. Since 1983, OKM has been a summer favorite for music lovers. From cozy halls to open-air nights, get ready to raise some good old-fashioned treble, and don’t miss a beat, because these musicians will light up the stage faster than you can say “fortissimo.”
