Looking for the land that belongs to you and me? There are few better places to start than Okemah, home to folk music legend Woody Guthrie and the music festival that bears his name. There’s plenty to do there: a swim in Okemah Lake, a round at Okemah Golf Course, and a bite at the Hen House Cafe. But it’s impossible to escape the legacy of Woody in Okemah and the iconic images of his guitar. If you’ve ever seen it, you’re likely familiar with the phrase written prominently on its body.
What famous phrase is written on Woody Guthrie’s guitar?
If you're looking for lots more about the music and legacy of Woody Guthrie, be sure to visit the Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa!
