It was a century ago this month that Oklahoma's oldest radio station was given a license to broadcast by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Over the last 100 years, listeners have heard this station play Top 40 hits, easy listening, country, sports broadcasts, and talk radio, but some of its earliest broadcasts included a series of daily news programs from what was then the Daily Oklahoman. For fifteen years, it operated out of downtown Oklahoma City's Skirvin Hotel.
