Though he was born in Missouri, this well-known comic book writer spent his formative years in Tulsa and always considered it his hometown, even as his career took him to New York City as a writer for both DC and Marvel Comics, where he was also editor-in-chief and helped secure the rights to make comics for a little-known space opera called Star Wars. Also notable, he was the writer on the first issue of Iron Man's solo comic!
