This Route 66 celebration is taking the celebration sky high. The Centennial Route 66 Balloon Festival in Arcadia celebrates 100 years of the iconic highway with a weekend of colorful hot air balloons, live music, food trucks, and vendors. Book a balloon ride to see the Mother Road from above, or keep your feet on the ground and enjoy the spectacle from ground level. Either way, you'll probably want to keep your camera handy.

Fall is fair season, and the Creek County Fall Free Fair brings the usual mix of carnival rides, livestock, exhibits, rodeo action, and fair food to Kellyville. There's no admission charge to browse the exhibits, so you can save your money for the Ferris wheel or whatever fried food catches your attention.

If Chickasha’s TwisterFest 2026 isn’t on your radar, you’re in for a whirlwind of fun. The two-day festival takes over Muscle Car Ranch with more than forty bands, plus a classic car and truck show, live professional wrestling, and a Kids Area with family-friendly activities. Don’t miss the huge Saturday night bonfire!

Erick is going purple for the Purple People Eater Fest, a quirky celebration of hometown musician Sheb Wooley and his unforgettable hit. The festival fills the town with live music from regional musicians, food vendors, craft booths, the Purple Parade, and Purple Motor Eater Car Show. You’ll probably get the song stuck in your head by the end of the weekend, but that's par for the course.

You don't need a passport to travel the world this weekend. Lawton's International Festival returns to Elmer Thomas Park for its forty-seventh year, celebrating the diverse cultures that make the Lawton-Fort Sill community unique. Spend the weekend sampling food, watching cultural performances, browsing vendors, and checking out demonstrations and activities from around the globe. It's three days of music, food and multicultural fun. It’s also much less expensive than an actual trip around the world.
