Guten Tag, You’re It

Oklahoma is no stranger to Oktoberfest celebrations, but they don’t get any bigger than the Zeeco Oktoberfest Tulsa festivities. Enjoy delicious food, beer imported straight from Munich, high-flying carnival rides, live polka and German music, plenty of chicken dances, and much more. There’s a kids tent with activities for the kinder, and adults can entertain themselves with beer keg races, beer pong competitions, and wiener dog races. Sounds like something we can raise a glass to . . . or several.
October 16-19. Single day admission, $20.15. Passes and other entry available online.

Walking Undead

Apologies to The Cranberries, but these are some zombies who won’t be “in your head.” Only the truly brave will survive a walk through the Lexington Zombie Farm in Lexington. Walk through the dark, natural setting and anticipate the inevitable jump scares that await. This is a no-touch haunted attraction, but you might be clutching at your own heart or gaping mouth from some of these encounters. All children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. You can find the Lexington Zombie Farm at 10101 144th Street in Lexington.
October 17-18 and Through November 1. Admission, $20.

Bat to the Bone

Those who need help getting into the Halloween spirit need look no further this week than Oklahoma City’s Civic Center Music Hall, where Oklahoma City Ballet’s Dracula will bring a retelling of Bram Stoker's 1897 horror classic to life. The thrills will only be enhanced by the accompanying live score from the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. Act fast because tickets will quickly disappear into the night.
October 17-19. Tickets, $30-$128.

Pieces of the Pie

Whether the air temperature wants to cooperate or not, the fall season is here and it just wouldn’t be the last quarter of the year without the sweet, nutty flavor of pecan. Ardmore has got us covered for this seasonal favorite with their Pecan Harvest Festival at Buchanan Family Pecan Farm. Live pecan harvesting is the main draw, but family fun abounds with bounce houses, hay rides, a baking contest, a silent auction, and dozens of on-site vendors.
October 18. Admission, $5. Children under 12, free.

Picture Perfect

Some iconic matriarchs of Disney, cinema, and folklore will gather at Oklahoma City’s Harn Homestead. The Sooner State is likely to see no shortage of little princesses in costume this Halloween, so make this holiday one that will be remembered forever by grabbing a photo with Cinderella, Elsa, the Sanderson sisters, and more at this year’s Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Bash. In addition to portrait and group photo opportunities, kids will enjoy trick-or-treating, ghoulidh games, crafts, stage shows, and more.
October 19. General admission, $35.
