A Hungry Art

Each week, the University of Oklahoma’s Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art in Norman welcomes young artists for Art Adventures. This free class is open to kids of all ages who want to experience art through books and do related art projects. This week’s book is The Greedy Triangle by Marilyn Burns, with illustrations by Gordon Silveria. June 16. Admission, Free. ou.edu/fjjma

Plate of Pride

Sometimes it seems like the only thing you can’t order at Picasso Cafe in Oklahoma City is a bad meal. Once a month, this Paseo Arts District favorite hosts a vegetarian-inspired prix fixe menu and June’s Veggie & Wine Dinner is celebrating Pride with a colorful array of dishes, including Rainbow Pizza covered in purple Peruvian potatoes, golden bell peppers, beets, broccoli, and vegan mozzarella. June 16. Reservations required, $32-$44. (405) 602-2002 or facebook.com

Reclaimed Youth

Limos were canceled. Corsages went unworn. All the drama had to stay on Snapchat. COVID-19 affected many things, but for high school students, one of the biggest events of the year vanished. This week, The Prom Shop in Enid is holding an Area Wide Prom at Chisholm Trail Expo Center for juniors and seniors attending school in northwest Oklahoma to help recapture those lost magic moments. Any invited date must be a high school student and may not be older than the age of 20. Enid Police will be on the premises. June 19. Tickets, $20-$35. eventbrite.com

Virtual Volunteering

The Studio by ETHOS Yoga in Claremore is postponing its hot yoga class this week and encouraging everyone to instead join the Run for a Cause superhero-themed virtual 5K. Get up early and run, walk, or jog wherever you are to raise money for the Young Living Foundation. Work up a sweat for a good cause! June 20. facebook.com

The Three Ds

No, not the Guy Fieri show. We’re talking about the Daddy Daughter Dance at the Historic Patriot Club in Fort Sill. Whether you’re a father, uncle, grandpa, or brother, you’re invited to dance the night away with your special young lady while enjoying refreshments and taking a photo for posterity. June 20. Reservations required, $25 for an adult and child, plus $10 for each additional child. (580) 442-5300 or facebook.com
