Grub with the Grinch

The fourteenth annual Supper with Santa and The Grinch at the Shawnee Family YMCA invites guests to let their bellies—and hearts—grow three sizes. The food-filled extravaganza will also feature inflatables, clowns, choral songs, dance performances, and plenty of photo ops with Mr. Clause. The Grinch will be making an appearance as well, because no party is complete without a little mischief. A free one year family membership will be given away to one lucky attendee at this year’s event, so don’t be late for supper! December 10. Tickets, Free-$6. facebook.com

Bright Lights, Block Party

Oklahoma City is stringing up lights and bringing the party with the inaugural Uptown Holiday Lights Block Party. The event will light up Twenty-third Street, offering festivities both inside and outside of OKC Community Church and Tower Theatre. Junction Coffee and Free Mode DJ will set the mood with hot drinks and cool tunes, and crafts will be available for little block partiers. Pop-up retail from Commonplace Books, TRADE Men’s Wares, OK Collective Candle Company, and several other local vendors will be on display. Stroll, shop, and snag plenty of pictures with Santa before night’s end. December 12. Admission, Free. uptown23rd.com/holiday-lights

Duncan Through the Snow

The North Pole may get credited as the biggest hub for holiday activity, but Duncan’s Santa Town is not to be ignored. Head to Halliburton Park for a weekend with Santa, the elves, and a very well-known red-nosed reindeer. Kids are welcome to enjoy holiday activities, snacks, and letters to Santa; the big guy in red guarantees that every letter sent will receive a personalized response. December 13-14. Admission, Free. visitduncan.org/events/santa-town

Merry and Fright

Whether in need of a merry sing-along or a good scream, Circle Cinema has you covered. The Tulsa arthouse theater hosts a diverse double feature this season with White Christmas and Black Christmas. Select showings of Irving Berlin’s classic musical will be accompanied by trivia and live Christmas music played on Circle Cinema’s 1928 pipe organ. Later in the night, Bob Clark’s Hitchcockian thriller Black Christmas will serve up some Christmas fear. Tickets for both screenings are on sale now. December 13-14. Tickets, $6.50-$12.50. Krampus Time is Here

Those seeking a hardcore alternative to traditional holiday cheer should look no further than Enid, Oklahoma. 1927 Events and Venue hosts A Very Krampus Metal Explosion, bringing together metal bands of the loudest volume for a night of seasonal shredding. Death Angel will be headlining, and six other bands will fill out the bill with tunes to make Krampus proud. The event is all ages, but parents who have yet to expose their kids to the concept of Krampus might be wise to get a sitter for this one. December 15. Tickets, $17-$20.
