Each week, Oklahoma Today staffers comb through their calendars to find a handful of great events happening across the state. Get out! See Oklahoma! And be sure to let us know what you find, either here or on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram at @oklahomatoday.*
Come on . . . you knew we had to recommend this one. If you grew up in Oklahoma, the Chickasha Festival of Light is a holiday tradition, and if you're visiting, you'll soon want to come back year after year. With over 3.5 million twinkling lights in Shannon Springs Park, you'll drive through dazzling scenes, animated displays, a music-synced light show, and a 172-foot Christmas tree visible for miles. You can also hop on a horse-drawn carriage, snap a photo with Santa, grab a food truck treat, ice skate, or ride the Ferris wheel and carousel. And speaking of iconic, don't miss downtown Chickasha's giant A Christmas Story leg lamp while you're there.
Through Dec 31. Admission, free.

I remember seeing the Trans-Siberian Orchestra live for the first time, and let me tell you, this isn't just a concert; it's a full lights-and-sound spectacle for the ages. This December, head to Tulsa's BOK Center for their highly-acclaimed rock opera. With your favorite holiday tunes given a hard rock twist, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra brings an unforgettable performance with a jaw-dropping light show and rock hits. And the fun doesn't have to stop there. You'll be in the heart of Downtown Tulsa, so stick around for WinterFest, where dazzling Christmas lights, ice skaters, and festive cheer make for a holly jolly evening you won't forget.
December 3. Tickets, $55-$293.

If you like your holiday lights with a little parade flair, grab the whole family and head to downtown Stillwater for the 2025 Christmas Parade of Lights. This beloved annual tradition fills the streets with sparkling floats, festive cheer, and plenty of photo-worthy moments. Arrive early to explore downtown, shop local stores, grab a bite from food trucks, and pick up sweet treats and light sticks for the little ones before the parade kicks off at 6:30. Soak in the sights, feel the holiday spirit, and start a new tradition the whole family will love.

Grab your hot cocoa, and get ready to cross names off your Christmas list at the annual Holiday Pop-Up Shops in Oklahoma City’s Midtown, open Fridays-Sundays until December 21. I always save half my shopping for this event because it has the perfect gifts, from cute outfits and quirky finds to plant-lover goodies and boutique treats. This weekend, catch Santa on Friday, live music from Rachel Lynch and Griffin Wade, Saturday storytime with Bookish and performances from Harding Fine Arts and Amie Reardon-Cotter, and Sunday music from April and Zach Gaddis. Bring your crew, soak in the festive vibes, and make a day of it.
December 5-7. Admission, free.

When I was younger, my family saw The Nutcracker every year, and that first note still brings pure holiday magic. Whether you’re watching for the fiftieth time or the first, the Rose State College Performing Arts Center’s production delivers. With twinkling lights, gorgeous costumes, and Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, it feels like stepping into a snow globe as Clara, the Nutcracker Prince, and the Sugar Plum Fairy bring Christmas to life beneath a glowing tree. Bring the whole family, and let this timeless classic remind you why it still captures hearts.
December 6-7. Tickets, $13-$61.
