Art and legacy come together on this week's episode of the Oklahoma Today podcast as musician Matt Axton stops by to talk about his Oklahoma connections, including his father, singer-songwriter and actor Hoyt Axton, and grandmother, Mae Boren Axton, who co-wrote the Elvis Presley hit "Heartbreak Hotel."

In October, Axton will play at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame & Museum, where his father and grandmother were both inducted in 2007.

Also on the podcast, the editors ponder their favorite Oklahoma-grown pieces of art in Question of the Week. Follow Oklahoma Today on Facebook and Instagram to take part in the conversation.

Podvents from this episode come, as always, from TravelOK.com. Here's what the editors discussed:

Oklahoma State Fair in Oklahoma City

Tulsa Ballet presents: Creations in Studio K

P Bar Farms Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch in Hydro

OKC Broadway presents: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
