There’s something to be said for consistency and this Oklahoma town has been nothing but, at least in terms of population. While one local farmer called it “the Hay Capital of the World,” this Craig County town’s size has remained steadily small. In 1930, the population was 271. In 1960, it was 228. As of 2010, the census reported 265 residents. It’s name, like so many others, came from the railroad companies, which decided to name it after a large wooden building about a mile away from the tracks.
