As Oklahomans and foodies, we were very excited when Chef Andrew Black (of Grey Sweater, Black Walnut, and The Gilded Acorn) was recently named Best Chef Southwest 2023 by the James Beard Foundation. Oklahoma Today editors are no strangers to his work, appearing in features Leap Of Taste and Dine & Crash: National Champions from the last few years. While this was the state's first win for a chef, it was not the first James Beard Foundation Award for Oklahoma.
