Oklahoma-born actor James Garner was known for his deep voice, chiseled good looks, and a sense of humor he shared with his many on-screen characters. Before he got into acting, Garner received two Purple Hearts for his injuries during the Korean War. His career included many highlights, including The Rockford Files, for which he won an Emmy in 1977. In 2006, Norman celebrated one of its favorite sons with a bronze statue of Garner as his other celebrated TV role.
