Each week, Oklahoma Today staffers comb through their calendars to find a handful of great events happening across the state. Get out! See Oklahoma! And be sure to let us know what you find, either here or on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram at @oklahomatoday.

Outdoor Oasis

The Grand Lake area is already a haven for hunting and fishing in the state, so it seems only right that Grove should host the Oklahoma Tackle, Hunting, and Boat Show. Running February 12-15 at Grove’s Wolf Creek Expo Center, this is an event that will be packed with hundreds of outdoor sport vendors and plenty of fun demonstrations. Whether you’re on the hunt for a new boat or high-end rod or you’re just window shopping, this is a fun way to spend time with the whole family. If you’re up for it, register for the event’s bass or crappie fishing tournaments over the weekend.

Patch Work

The dedication and craftsmanship behind many quilting creations are worthy of awe. Those who visit the Wichita Mountains Quilt Guild Show this Friday and Saturday at the Great Plains Coliseum in Lawton are bound to be awe-struck by many such marvelous quilting pieces. Browse through rows of local and regional makers and maybe even buy one or two or six to go home with.
February 13-14. Admission, $10-$12.

Plant-Based Diet

I can relate to the infamous man-eating plant Audrey II, because I too announce my presence with a demand to be fed. We’ll all be crying “Feed me, Seymour!” when we got to see the new production of Little Shop of Horrors by Clinton’s Southwest Playhouse. Running February 13-15 and 20-22, audiences will delight at the classic about a carnivorous plant set for world domination to a score of early 1960s doo-wop and rock ‘n’ roll.

MOH Love

The flyer for the I Love You MOH Valentine’s Party at the Claremore Museum of History promises cookies, a movie, and a kissing booth, so sounds like my kind of party. This community event is meant for your ones, and those who attend can complete Valentine’s crafts and come home with a sack full of candy. Stop in any time between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. for the festivities.

Cupid’s Playlist

In case you’ve forgotten, it is in fact Valentine’s Day this Saturday. If you’re in a time crunch to get your sweetie something, you could rummage through the local corner store for the right heart-shaped box of chocolates, or you could really be a winner and just take them to the Mix-Tape V-Day Bash in Oklahoma City. Held at The Mix-Tape at the fabulous art hub Factory Obscura, enjoy works from the In Love with Love group art show along with live music and fortune telling. The immersive Mix-Tape experience will also be open late for love birds.
**February 14. Admission, $10 or free with Mix-Tape experience admission. ion. [factoryobscura.com
