Today as a freelance copyeditor in 1990. She was born in Oklahoma City and
attended Piedmont Public Schools, University of Central Oklahoma, and Oklahoma
State University in Stillwater. While in Stillwater, she worked as student
programs director for OSU, then later completed her secondary teaching
certification. In 1994, she returned to her hometown to take a teaching position
in the Mid-Del Public School system, where she was named teacher of the year in
her fourth year on the job. She has served as senior editor at Oklahoma Today
since 2000.
