Photo of the Week
This week’s photos of the week feature a blooming Oklahoma crop that lights up the state in spring.
These photos of the week were taken by Ranae Maberry, above, and LeRae Leck, below. Both of these women captured unique shots of Oklahoma wildlife with a background of blooming canola in western Oklahoma this spring.
“This was taken somewhere near Southard,” says Maberry, who got the shot with her Canon T2i using a 75-300mm zoom lens. “A friend, and I were driving the back roads that day. There are quite a lot of canola fields up that way. It was beautiful!”
The second shot was captured by Leck, who says, “I took this shot just southwest of Kingfisher. Obviously the honey bees love the canola, but I was amazed at this sight. Notice how they are bending the top barbed wire down and pushing the second strand upwards? I was very impressed with this shot, and it wasn’t super easy to get cause the bees were everywhere!“
