Steffie Corcoran

Born in Oklahoma City and raised in Piedmont, Steffie Corcoran attended the University of Central Oklahoma (then Central State University) before transferring to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. There, she earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English prior to working as student programs coordinator for the OSU Alumni Association, where her duties included managing all aspects of OSU’s Homecoming festivities.
While in Stillwater, Steffie obtained teacher certification and returned to Oklahoma City in 1994 to take a position in the Mid-Del Public School system. She was named the district’s Teacher of the Year in 1998.
Her career at Oklahoma Today spans two decades, beginning as the magazine’s freelance copyeditor in 1991, a position she held until she was named senior editor in 2000. She succeeded Louisa McCune as editor of Oklahoma Today in spring 2011.
As editor, Steffie is the magazine’s creative director and oversees all aspects of its editorial content. Her writing and reporting have won numerous awards, including first-place honors from the Society of Professional Journalists Oklahoma Pro Chapter for Best Magazine Reporting Portfolio, Feature Writing, and Best Profile in 2010.
An avid reader and culture junkie, Steffie lives in Yukon just blocks from Old Route 66.
