Ervalene Jenkins, a longtime Muskogee resident and a graduate of Northeastern State University’s tourism management program, has worked in the tourism industry for more than twenty-five years. Before coming to Oklahoma Today in September 2006, she served as the director of the Muskogee Civic Center and of Muskogee Convention & Tourism. At Oklahoma Today, Ervalene’s sales territory includes, generally speaking, the eastern half of the state.
Her professional accomplishments are many and include being named Minority Business Person of the Year by the Muskogee Chamber of Commerce, serving as a delegate for the White House Conference on Tourism, and being designated a finalist for the Journal Record’s Woman of the Year award. Under her direction, Muskogee Convention & Tourism received multiple RedBud awards from the Oklahoma Travel Industry Association, where she later served as chair. In August 2000, she won the Destiny Award from the Travel Industry Association of America, and she was instrumental in the development of Muskogee’s Garden of Lights holiday festival.
When she’s not otherwise occupied, Ervalene enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family, which includes three grandchildren.
