Originally from Midwest City and a graduate of Carl Albert High School, Colleen McIntyre was hired as a student intern at Oklahoma Today in January 1997. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in journalism advertising in May 1997 from the University of Central Oklahoma, she joined the staff full-time as advertising production manager. A year later, she was named production manager.
Colleen’s responsibilities include designing and trafficking all advertisements; producing, designing, and overseeing the printing of all in-house projects; pre-flighting files; coordinating printing and proofing with the magazine’s printer; gathering estimates for print projects; managing all aspects of advertising billing and receivables; marketing for trade shows; and handling award entries.
In 1999, Colleen oversaw the magazine’s transition from film-based printing to CTP (computer-to-plate). In 2008, she also managed the transition from hard proofing to a complete online workflow. Her design work has won several awards, including three local ADDYs from the Oklahoma City Advertising Club and, in 2005, a silver ADDY in district-wide competition. She is on the awards committee of the International Regional Magazine Association and has served as a judge for a number of annual print contests. She serves on the advisory board of Metro Technology Centers, graphic design.
