Born in Oklahoma City, Bethany Scott was a valedictorian of the class of 2007 at Carl Albert High School in Midwest City. She was a student intern at Oklahoma Today during the spring 2011 semester, and, after graduating with honors from the University of Central Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in leadership in May 2011, she joined the staff as production assistant.

Bethany has a number of responsibilities at the magazine that include designing and trafficking advertisements, producing and designing in-house projects, pre-flighting files, and assisting in website production. 

While in college, Bethany was involved in the American Democracy Project and Leaders of Tomorrow. Devoted to giving back to the community, she volunteers at local events, food banks, and animal welfare organizations and in her spare time enjoys photography, reading, design, and crafts. She lives in Edmond.
